Lukas
Kandl en Galerie Beeldkracht
|
|
|
Lukás Kándl,
een kunstenaar, waarvan de stijl door sommigen wordt
gerekend tot het Surrealisme is beslist één van de
kunstenaars waar Galerie Beeldkracht zeer blij mee
is.
De humor en merkwaardige fantasie van deze wereldwijd
gerespecteerde kunstenaar spreekt erg tot onze eigen
verbeelding. Daarbovenop genieten we van het grote
vakmanschap van deze oorspronkelijk uit Tjechië
afkomstige meesterschilder. Tegenwoordig woont en werkt
hij in Frankrijk.
De kunstenaar exposeerde wereldwijd in Europa, Azië,
Australië en de Verenigde Staten in aansprekende cultuur
en wereldsteden als New York, Parijs, Berlijn, Venetië en
Praag. Ook in Nederland is zijn werk op verschillende
exposities te zien geweest. Galerie Beeldkracht exposeert
zijn werk permanent, terwijl in 2010 een solo expositie
van de kunstenaar geprogrammeerd staat.

About
the art by Lukas Kandl
Lukás Kándl's art is often classified within the surrealist
movement. He explains himself that he composes his paintings somewhat as a ballad which prompts
reflexion, provokes, bemuses and always arouses a multitude of
questions. Painter Lukás Kándl (Prag 1944) says about his art:
"My painting is somewhere between surrealism and fantastic, a mix of strange and
magic. I like to think that, in an other life, I was living in
Prague, as someone in charge of Rudolf II's fabulous collection in which you could
find, for example, astrological tools, potions to make gold, the philosophal
stone, impenetrable manuscripts full of
vitriol formula. There were also strange beasts that I especially
love."

Education
and activities
Lukás Kándl studied at the Prague College of Art from 1959 to 1963. Lukás Kándl is a graduate student from the Prague Academy of Applied Art (1963 to 1969). In 1969, Lukás Kándl received an MA from the Academy of Fine Arts.
His professional experience took him to France and Holland as part of his study tour. In 1975, he acquires the French citizenship and settles in
France. Lukás Kándl's original art work has been shown throughout the world in many international
exhibitions. He exhibited in hundreds of solo and groupe
exhibitions in capitals and cities like Berlin, Köln, Amsterdam,
Prague, Paris, Nice, Lyon, Lille, Bruxelles, Monte-Carlo,
Milan, Venice, Los Angelos, Boston, Washington D.C., New
York, New Orleans, Miami, Osaka, Fathehpur and Canberra.
Lukás Kándl is not only a painter but makes also sculptures and
is designer for posters. In the last category he was winner of Trophée Lancôme poster competition in
1985 and he was the designer for the National Book Fair in Saint-Etienne
(France) for 16 years, designing a set of highly appreciated posters.
Since 2002, he is the head of the Surrealistic/Visionary group of the French Ğ Salon Comparaisons ğ in
Paris. Each year he gives mandatory theme and format to his group for the annual show "Art en
Capital"" in the Grand Palais. Themes untill now were Exquisite Angel (2006),
Exclamations!
(2007) and Divine Comedy (2008). As he is one of the leaders of the Magic Realism painting in
France, he created
an artist group named 'Libellule'. This group brings together some of the best contemporary international artists to present a
fantastic, surreal, imaginary and visionary world. They are all like Lukás Kándl himself masters of the
craft and their technical quality are fare above mediocracy.
Beside the already mentioned activities, he has been elected Secretary of the Paris Salon d'Automne
in 1987 and he is an Honorary Member of the Copley Society in Boston since 1988.
Lukás Kándl was, furthermore, the coordinator of the exhibition "Les
