Gitta Pardoel
(1964, Haarlem, the Netherlands) graduated from the Technical
University of Delft, Department of Architecture in 1991. During
several jobs she attended the artschool in Utrecht and graduated in
1997. In 2004 she graduated from the Montfort University in
Leicester, UK, in art, architecture and design on the balance
between art and architecture. Besides design in art and architecture
she researches the influence of our perception of space. She has
given many lectures and workshops in this field as well as
educational workshops.

realiteit vormen het begin van mijn visuele gedichten.

My memory and thoughts together with the splitted and fragmented reality,
form the beginning of my visuel poetry.

her work
At any given moment,
we are experiencing simultaniously an amalgam of diverse mental
states like visual sensations, tactile sensations, auditory
sensations, feelings and thoughts. I gather constantly these
impressions, memories, happenings, experiences from which
collections rise. They form the basis of my work. I organize these
collections in a kind of archives which might contain video-shots,
photos, text, sound fragments, drawings etc.
My memory, experiences, happenings and thoughts together with the
split-up and fragmented reality, form the beginning of my audio
visual-poetry.
In my work I try to visualize invisible relations cq. combinations
between my inner world and a place, a space, a spot a house, a park,
a city.
In first instance I don´ t make any distinction between these
elements. They form invisible relations with the place and on the
surface have nothing to do with each other. I encounter them on my
way. An intuitive choice from these archives is the start of a work.
